One Year of Revity! What We Built, What We Learned, and Why We’re Just Getting Started

A year ago, we opened the doors to Revity Pilates in Burlington with a simple belief: that movement should feel good, that community should feel real, and that a studio could be more than just a place to work out.
One year in, we can honestly say we had no idea how right and how naive we were.
Where It Started
Revity wasn’t born from a business plan. It was born from a body that needed help.
Like a lot of people, we came to Reformer Pilates not as a fitness trend but as a necessity. Sciatica has a way of getting your attention, and when we found that consistent Pilates practice genuinely helped, not just physically but mentally. We couldn’t stop thinking about how many other people needed exactly this.
We are entrepreneurs at heart. We see a problem, we want to solve it beautifully. And the problem we saw was this: Burlington deserved a Pilates studio that wasn’t just functional, but actually felt like somewhere you wanted to be. A space that was zen, welcoming, and built on community rather than competition.
So we built it.
The Hardest Part Nobody Warns You About
We’ll be honest with you, because we think you deserve that.
We have other businesses. Balancing those alongside Revity, giving this studio the attention it deserves while managing everything else, has been the real challenge of year one. There were moments where we wished we could clone ourselves. There were weeks where Revity needed more of us than we had to give.
What we learned is that building something meaningful takes more than passion. It takes presence. And we are committed to showing up for Revity and for you, the way this community deserves.
What Surprised Us Most
We thought the studio would fill organically. Beautiful space, great classes, word would spread, right?
That is not quite how it works. Growing a studio takes intentional effort, consistent outreach, and a willingness to keep showing up even when the reformers are not all full. That was a humbling and important lesson.
But here is what genuinely caught us off guard in the best possible way: the people.
We expected clients. We got a community.
The people who walk through our doors are kind, curious, and genuinely likeminded. They have changed our own mindset, about wellness, about connection, about what it means to build something worth building. Meeting them has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We don’t say that lightly.
What We’re Most Proud Of
We built something beautiful.
That sounds simple, but it means everything to us. Our instructors are wonderful! Talented, warm, and genuinely invested in every person they teach. Our clients fit perfectly into the space we created for them. And the space itself? On the days when the world outside feels loud and chaotic, Revity feels like a little zen bubble we built together. Kind. Calm. Ours.
In a world that can feel overwhelming, we are proud to have created somewhere people come to breathe.
Year Two
We are not done learning. We are not done growing. But we are showing up with everything we have, for this studio, for our instructors, and for every person who has ever walked through that door.
If you have been part of this first year, thank you. Truly.
And if you have been thinking about coming in for the first time, or coming back, we would love to see you.
Come celebrate with us on April 25th!
